I have been a volunteer at the South Wales Miners’ Museum for about 20 years. I have personally collected a number of the artefacts now on display at the museum including some that were so big I’m not sure now how I ever got them into my car!

The South Wales Miners’ Museum was officially opened in 1976 and is based at Afan Argoed Country Park, Cynonville, Port Talbot, we receive about 100,000 visitors a year.

We have a large and comprehensive collection of photographs and artefacts on the history of mining in the area, including a simulated underground gallery.
