Welcome to my collection of photographs of the history of coal mining in South Wales. I have been taking photos and shooting cinefilm of the area for over 20 years. I grew up in the Garw Valley in the 1930's surrounded by four pits and numerous drift mines but my fascination was really sparked when I heard that the Glenafon Colliery was about be shut down and demolished in 1959. My web site will show you a
world that no longer exists...
